Black Oak Getty is Sempra Renewables’ 78-megawatt (MW) wind farm project located in Stearns County, Minnesota. It harnesses the power of the wind to provide clean electricity and an economic boost to surrounding communities.
The project moved into full construction in spring 2016, created about 250 construction jobs at peak and approximately seven full-time positions. Construction completed in December 2016. Black Oak Getty utilizes 39 wind turbines to generate enough clean electricity to power about 32,000 Minnesota homes.
The entire output from the wind farm has been sold to the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency under a 20-year contract.
